October projects

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Although I haven’t been in the studio making work lately, I have been busy working intensely on various other projects. Last week I worked on delivering the Chapter & Verse Literature Festival at the Bluecoat. It was an enjoyable five days with some excellent events across the board. I particulary enjoyed the closing event ‘Revolutions in Form’ curated by Nathan Jones. The multi-disciplinary format and audience participation ensured that everyone was on their toes and provided an excellent example of the power of the spoken word…when earlier today I crossed direct paths with a stranger (not quite in the pale moonlight) and we did the obligatory left-right-left dance, I found myself shimmying with a wry smile etched on my face remembering Nathan’s poem.

Now Chapter & Verse is over I am currently working on designing the November issue of blankpages, from the chaps at Blank Media Collective. The issue will be online on November 1st and available to download.

Chapter & Verse

The second literature festival kicks off at the Bluecoat next week and it is promising to be an excellent couple of days of engaging and interesting talks, lectures, workshops and performances. Critically, the festival offers the North West emerging and established writers, poets and literati all within a very generous pricing system.

I am particulary interested to see Nathan Jones, the current poet-in-residence at the Bluecoat, ‘Revolutions in Form’ a collaborative performance piece to be held on Sunday evening. For more information on the festival visit;
